This is another really exciting chapter for us as a company and one I’m very proud to finally share.
I acquired Bottle Decoration Solutions, also known as BDS, and for me this feels like a really natural next step in the journey.
When I first started Supplies For Candles, I was working from a garage, packing orders myself and trying to build something from nothing. At the time, I never imagined that one day we would be building a group of businesses that could support customers not just with ingredients and products, but with the full journey of bringing their brand to life.
That’s what this acquisition is really about.
Bottle Decoration Solutions is a UK based specialist in bottle decoration and packaging finishing. They work with glass bottles, plastic bottles, cans and containers, helping brands create a premium finish that stands out on shelf. Their services include printing, spray coating, foiling, sleeving, badging, decals and transfers, laser engraving, contract packing, product recovery and new product development.
For our customers, this opens up so many more opportunities.
Over the years, I’ve seen so many small businesses start from home with an idea, a bit of determination and a real passion for what they are making. Some start with candles, some with wax melts, some with soap, cosmetics, home fragrance or drinks. But one thing every business has in common is that at some point, presentation really matters.
You can have the best product in the world, but if the packaging doesn’t look right, it can hold you back.
That’s why this acquisition makes so much sense. With Glassprint and Bottle Decoration Solutions coming together, we can offer customers a much wider range of decoration and finishing options, all under one stronger setup. It gives us more capability, more knowledge, more machinery and more ways to help businesses create products they are proud to put their name on.
What I really like about BDS is that it is a proper, practical business. It is not just about making something look nice. It is about quality, colour accuracy, consistency, deadlines and making sure customers get a finished product that works for them commercially.
That is so important.
When you are building a business, every detail matters. Your fragrance matters. Your wax matters. Your ingredients matter. Your customer service matters. But your packaging is often the first thing people see, and it can completely change how your product is perceived.
A frosted bottle, a metallic spray finish, a printed logo, a 3D badge, a sleeve, a foil detail or a laser engraving can take a product from looking handmade to looking premium and retail ready.
That is what excites me most.
This is not just another acquisition for the sake of growth. It is about building something that genuinely supports our customers. The same customers who buy from Supplies For Candles, The Soap Kitchen and Glassprint are often the same people trying to create better products, better brands and better opportunities for themselves.
I’ve always said that one of the best parts of this journey is seeing other people build businesses from the products and services we provide. That still drives me every day.
I know how hard it is to start. I know what it feels like when you are trying to make something work and you don’t have everything figured out. I know how much every order, every customer and every decision matters. That is why I want our businesses to keep giving people the tools, products and support they need to grow.
Bottle Decoration Solutions is another part of that mission.
It means we can now support more brands across home fragrance, cosmetics, food and drink, spirits, gifting, corporate branding and so much more. Whether someone is launching a new product, refreshing their packaging, fixing stock, creating a bespoke branded item or trying to make their product look more premium, we now have even more ways to help.
There is still a lot of work to do. There always is.
Every acquisition brings challenges. New systems, new processes, new teams, new customers and new expectations. But that is also what makes it exciting. I’ve never been afraid of hard work, and I know that with the right team around me, we can take this business into its next chapter.
I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can build with BDS.
For me, this is another step towards creating a group of businesses that can support customers from idea to finished product. From ingredients to containers, from printing to decoration, from small start ups to established brands, I want us to be the place people can come to when they are serious about creating something special.
I’m proud of how far we’ve come.
From a garage in South Yorkshire to acquiring businesses that help thousands of other brands grow, it still feels a bit surreal at times. But I also know that none of this happens by accident. It comes from taking risks, backing yourself, working hard and building a team that believes in where you are going.
This is another big step.
And I genuinely believe it is going to create some amazing opportunities for our customers, our team and the future of the business.
I’m excited for what comes next.
